Rats
Description:
Rats are a common problem in both domestic and commercial situations. Quite often a rat problem can be traced back to problems with the drains. Rats will use the sewers as a means of moving around from one site to another, and are constantly probing for any defects that will allow them access below the floors of our homes. Another way in is when there is a defect in the fabric of the building e.g. broken airbricks.
Treatment:
The treatment is very similar to that for mice, only on a larger scale. We carry out three separate visits with a two-week space between each visit. Bait is placed in lockable boxes, again to ensure to no non-target species or children can come into contact with the bait. If no obvious defects to the outside of the building can be found, then it may be advisable to contact a reputable drain company to have a CCTV scan of the drains.
