Fleas

Pest control and extermination for fleas

Description:

Fleas are a biting insect that tends to be associated with our pets. They can be very difficult to identify with the naked eye. If the infestation is heavy, then activity will often be seen around floor level. It is possible to monitor with a purpose built plug in heat lamp with a sticky base. An alternative is to place a hot bowl of water on the floor in the room where you suspect activity, as fleas are attracted to heat sources you can end up with fleas in the water. This method is by no means absolute, but it can get help to identify if there is a problem or not.

Treatment:

Control is achieved by using a residual spray to all floor surfaces and soft furnishings. If pets are involved, then it is important that treatment is obtained from the vets and all pet bedding must be washed. Again, it is often the norm for more than one treatment.
